It may be possible to recover save data by following the steps detailed below in the event the save data becomes corrupt.

      (1) Restoring via Steam Cloud
You can try restoring the save data from the Steam Cloud if you have save syncing enabled.
Right-click the icon for Steam in the taskbar or the system tray, and select “Settings”.
Open the “Cloud” tab on the Settings screen and verify “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for applications which support it” checkbox is checked.
Move all contents in the save data folder to another location to make the folder empty.
The path to the save data folder:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[UserID]\582010\remote
Note: The text string for [UserID] differs for everyone
Note: This is the default installation path and may differ if you have installed Steam in a different location.

Launch “Monster Hunter: World” from the Steam Client and see if the save data has been restored from the Cloud.
If the recovered file from Steam Cloud is also corrupt, please try the additional steps below.

      (2) Try restoring save data from the backup data saved on your PC
Important: Please try the steps below only after disabling Steam Cloud syncing.

There is a possibility that a backup data may have been created and stored in the following folder when playing the game:
      Back-up data location:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\savedata_backup
Note: This is the default installation path and may differ if you have installed Steam in a different location.

If a “SAVEDATA1000” file was created in the “savedata_backup” folder, please copy and paste the file into “remote” folder from the previous steps above.

Note: If the name of the created file is “SAVEDATA1000_[date]”, please edit the file name and delete “_[date]”.

Note: There may already be a “SAVEDATA1000” file in the “remote” folder if you have created a new save. Please move this to another location or delete the file if you have no use for it.

Please note that lost save data cannot be recovered if you are unable to restore your save data using the methods above. Gameplay data is neither stored nor accessible via the game’s server. Thank you for your understanding.
